As One Chapter Closes

Well, it's official.  As of this past Saturday, I am a graduate and new alumna of Saint Vincent College!  Four years ago, as I took a chance and put my deposit down on a school none of my friends had heard of, I never would have guessed the immense impact that my professors and fellow classmates at SVC would have on my life.  

In these past four years I have become a better student, leader, and friend.  I have honed my marketing and business skills and realized what truly matters to me as I move on with my life, and I owe most of this to my alma mater (it feels so weird to say that!) 

To all those who have supported me throughout these past four years- Thank You! I look forward to putting my new skills and abilities to use in the next chapter of my life and will forever be grateful for my time at Saint Vincent College.

This past Wednesday was our Senior Honors Convocation, and I was so honored to receive the ACBSP (Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs) Student Leadership Award.  As planned, I headed to a faculty dining room to have lunch with my academic advisor before the ceremony, but was incredibly surprised to see who was there to join us- my dad!  As a surprise for me, he had driven all the way from East Tennessee to Pittsburgh the night before so that he could be there to celebrate with me.

As I had lunch with the two of them and then celebrated with both friends and classmates afterwards, I was overwhelmed by the sense of community and love that are present here at Saint Vincent.  As I walk across the stage to receive my diploma two weeks from tomorrow (how has time gone so fast?!), I will be so proud to become an official alumna of this school and to use and share the skills and virtues I have gained throughout the past four years here.  Here's to making these final two weeks the best they can be!  

T-120 Days and Counting

Graduation.  It's in 120 days and for as much as I've prepared through internships, tough classes, and extra-curricular experience, I feel nowhere near ready.  Knowing that I'm definitely not the only one a little nervous about the looming May date is a little comforting, but it's still rough.

Although I definitely have my Type B tendencies, my long term career/life plans had always been very, very Type A.  First I would do X, which would lead me to Y, and then I would end up at Z.  Very simple.  Very scripted. Very... boring.  

As I'm finally approaching graduation, the kick-starter that you simply can't stop, I feel like I'm nearing a fork in the road with about a million different options.  For the first time in quite a few years, I'm honestly not sure which way I'm going to choose come May 11...
